Rents grow at alarming rate amid Greens rental freeze push

The Greens party are continuing to advocate for a rental freeze as rent in Melbourne grows faster than in other capital cities.

Greens MP for Richmond and spokesperson for rental rights, Gabrielle De Vietri, says renters cannot afford another rental rise.

“We need to intervene right now, freeze rents for a period for two years, and then cap them permanently after that,” she told Tom Elliott, filling in for Neil Mitchell.
