Seemingly harmless bingo games have a sinister side, according to concerning new gambling research.

A study published by the Victorian Responsible Gambling Foundation reveals bingo games are being used to direct people to more harmful forms of gambling.

La Trobe University Associate Professor, Dr Sarah MacLean, who led the research, says bingo is often played in areas where there are pokies.
