Research reveals the concerning number of accidents caused by distracted driving

3AW Mornings

Research from Compare the Market Australia has found 79 per cent of Australian drivers have been involved in a car accident due to distracted driving with weather conditions being the biggest contributor.

Former Victorian Police Highway Patrol Officer and founder of Jerome Breen’s Driving School, Jerome Breen, says people don’t drive to the conditions of the roads.

“I don’t think they’re driving to the conditions of the weather …  I go down the Mornington Pennisula on the freeway every day of my life, and sometimes we get these thunderstorms come through and people are still buzzing around at 100, 110,” he told Tony Jones.
