Reservoir man arrested over violent alleged sexual assault in North Melbourne

A Reservoir man is being questioned over a violent alleged sexual assault in North Melbourne five years ago.

It comes after a $500,000 reward was announced for information on the attacker, who stalked the victim on King Street before raping her in 2013.

A 34-year-old man was arrested at a Reservoir home this afternoon, along with a 37-year-old woman.

The woman will be interviewed over perjury and false alibi offences.
