Berwick locals say they’re being forced into cutting overgrown council grass because nobody else is doing it.

Emma Atkinson contacted 3AW on Wednesday, saying much of the public land was unusable due to the state of the situation.

“In some areas I’d say there are weeds taller than me,” she told Tony Jones, who is filling for Neil Mitchell on 3AW Mornings.

She said she’d tried to get council to act on the issue but had got nowhere.

Emma’s call set the 3AW talkback line alight, with callers reporting similar issues in several other municipalities.
