Residents in the Belgrave area have been warned via social media by South East Water about potential issues with pressure sewers.

Managing director of South East Water, Lara Olson, says most of the sewer network is a gravity network but they do use a pressure sewer in some instances.

“With the electricity being out in the Belgrave area, we do currently have about 230 customers … that don’t have power and don’t have power to their pressure sewers,” she told Jacqui Felgate.
