Residents in Melbourne’s south-east form security group to combat crime

Residents in Bayside are the latest to form security groups as Victoria continues to experience an unprecedented crime wave.

Liberal MP for Brighton James Newbury says he understands why residents have taken matters into their own hands.

“We’ve got one of the biggest and highest home invasion numbers in the state, do I get that you want to look after your neighbours and your own family? Absolutely,” he said.
