Restaurant responds to kid-free policy

A new restaurant and bar in Melbourne’s outer east has banned kids, but the owner says parents are on board.

The Peacock Den’s website clearly states children under 16 are not allowed.

Owner Kate Hall said the kid-free policy at The Basin bar was a welcome addition to the area.

“It’s been amazing we’ve been overwhelmingly thanked by parents and patrons that have attended the Peacock Den thus far, it’s been a really positive response,” she said.

She said it was set up like a big loungeroom.

“It’s a completely different experience we’ve tried to create,” she said.
