Born with a deadly heart condition, baby Arielle was given less than a two per cent chance to live.

Rushed to the Royal Children’s Hospital, doctors told Arielle’s family to prepare to say goodbye.

Her father, Carl, told Neil Mitchell Arielle is alive today because doctors took a huge chance on her.

“We were fortunate enough that the cardiologist took a punt and put her on a machine that no other child had been on,” Carl said.

“It kept her alive long enough to get a heart.”

Arielle was on the machine for five months before successfully receiving a heart transplant.

Now four-years-old and happy and healthy, Arielle has just been announced as the face of the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal.

“She’ll leave all of us for dead she’s that energetic!” Carl said.
