Revealed: VicRoads announces action on Montague St bridge

VicRoads is setting up a new warning system at the Montague Street bridge after this week’s spectacular bus crash.
Eleven people were hospitalised when a bus slammed into the bridge on Monday.
A truck hit it last night.

John Merritt from VicRoads told Neil Mitchell a team inspected the site yesterday and will take immediate action.
New measures on approach:
- More flashing lights
- A gantry with warning flaps
Mr Merritt said VicRoads will also assess the viability of lowering the road.
