Richard Marles and Jane Hume go head-to-head on Peter Dutton’s debate performance

Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles and Shadow Finance Minister Jane Hume have gone head-to-head on the performance of Peter Dutton in Tuesday night’s leaders’ debate.
Opinions are split on who came out on top in the debate, which pitted Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and Mr Dutton against each other for the first time in the lead-up to the May 3 election.
Mr Marles accused Mr Dutton of lying during what he described as a “policy-free” debate performance.

“It was largely a policy-free zone (from Peter Dutton),” he said on 3AW Drive.
“It’s frustrating when the pressure is on, he starts lying.”
“Oh, nonsense,” Ms Hume responded.
