Richo ‘staggered’ by Riewoldt talk

Recent discussion regarding the future of Jack Riewoldt is ‘staggering’, according to club legend Matthew Richardson.

It has been suggested that Riewoldt could leave Tigerland at the end of the season, however Riewoldt has stated he is there to stay.

The Tigers key forward needs three more goals this weekend to reach 50 for the season. If he does reach that mark, it will be the seventh year running where he has kicked at least 50 goals. Lance Franklin is the only other current day player to match that stat.

Richardson says forwards like Riewoldt are the type that clubs need to keep.

‘You don’t give away guys that can kick 50 goals a year,’ Richardson said.

‘I’m not sure where it’s coming from, I’m not sure who’s thrown it up by I’m staggered by it.’
