Richo wants Hurley at Richmond
Until Essendon defender Michael Hurley commits to the club, speculation will continue to grow about his future.
Scoop McClure believes he is no more than a 50/50 chance to play at Essendon again and Matthew Richardson wants the Tigers to lure the star defender.
‘I think he would be a fantastic addition at Richmond,’ Richardson said on Sports Today.
‘He’s an All-Australian defender and he can go forward and kick five goals.’
Hurley could command a million dollars on the open market, according to Gerard Healy.
Another big name who could be up for grabs at the end of this season is Collingwood forward Travis Cloke, however Richardson is not convinced that he would be the right man for Punt Road.
‘It’s a romantic notion, because of the Cloke connection at Richmond,’ said Richardson.
‘I think at his age, 29, he’s not going get any better as a key forward.
‘If they’re going to have a crack at a big name player, I’d be having a look at Michael Hurley.’
