‘Ridiculous’: Calls for Australia to expand domestic fishing industry
Australians are being forced to eat inferior seafood and putting itself at risk of shortages in future, amid renewed calls for the fishing industry to be allowed to expand domestically.
Joanne Butterworth-Gray, Chair of Seafood Industry Victoria, told 3AW Breakfast over over 70 per cent of seafood eaten in Australian came from international waters.
“It’s a ridiculous situation,” she said.
