Rita Panahi has rubbished rumours she will go into politics.

The Financial Review had reported that the Liberal Party’s Victorian president Michael Kroger had approached the Herald Sun columnist to nominate for the upcoming preselections.

But Rita dismissed the idea that she’d go into politics as ‘absolute nonsense’.

‘It’s an extraordinary piece of fiction,’ she told Tom Elliott on Tuesday.

‘Do I look like the type who would be happy having to hold my tongue and not say what I’m thinking?

‘I just can’t believe they’d publish that nonsense without coming to me for comment.’
