Rita Panahi says we’re making the lives of kids more complicated than necessary.

The Herald Sun columnist told Tom Elliott we are tackling problems that don’t exist, and has refuted claims pre-schoolers are sexist.

‘Just because most girls prefer dolls and most boys prefer trucks, I don’t think we should be getting hysterical and saying that this is a sign of entrenched gender roles and it’s going to lead to domestic violence.’

Rita said she couldn’t believe reports surrounding the items in kid’s lunch boxes that were deemed to be junk foods.

‘Excuse me, yoghurt and milk drinks are junk foods now?’

‘We have over thought this so much that we are creating problems where they don’t exist.’
