Herald Sun columnist Rita Panahi says we are paying too much money for the simple things at hospitals like parking and free-to-air TV.

Rita discovered Epworth hospital charges $60 for four hours parking. 

‘That is a really significant cost, there are some discounts available for some long term patients, but you have to meet the criteria to qualify.’

She’s told Nick McCallum it’s not good enough – ‘You can’t take advantage of people who are sick, or the loved ones of sick people.’

Some patients are paying upwards of $10 per day to watch TV from their hospital beds.

‘That is taking advantage of a captive audience.’ ? Rita told 3AW Drive.
