Roads, rates & rubbish: Council video starring Tom Elliott

Tom Elliott’s calls for councils have prompted the Municipal Association of Victoria to release a video busting myths about local government.

The budget short film is pretty amusing, and it stars Tom himself!

Cr Dick Gross from the City of Port Phillip will join 3AW Drive this afternoon.

“Look I’ve got some deep seeded anguish about how councils are perceived in the media,” Cr Gross said.

“We did want to humiliate you but we did want to make a serious point.

“We do lots of things a part from roads, rates and rubbish.

“It’s shocking, the humour and acting – hopeless.

“In the next one you’re the hero rather than the baddie.”
