Rodney Eade has revealed the half-hour chat with Gary Ablett that revilatised his season.

Ablett starred in the Suns’ 26-point win over Carlton on Saturday night, backing up from a best-on-ground effort against the Hawks in Round 3.

Following the game, the Suns star told 3AW he’d asked his coach to ‘back him in’ for more midfield time.

Eade said he spoke to Ablett about getting back to what he does best.

‘His bread and butter is contested ball. He’s probably the best at it in the competition,’ Eade said.

‘He said he wanted to stay in the midfield.

‘I think he’s got enough credits on the board to be able to do that.’
