Ron Iddles says reports of Victoria Police sex abuse ‘fell on deaf ears’

Tom Elliott

What they’ve had to say

Police Association boss Ron Iddles says reports of sex abuse cover-ups had fallen on ‘deaf ears’ for years.

Responding to today’s explosive report, Mr Iddles said several Victoria Police executives prior to Ken Lay had failed to take the cultural scourge seriously.

‘Sadly, to some extent, it fell on deaf ears,’ he told Neil Mitchell.

‘I’m not sure how far it goes back, but it goes back a long time.’
