Ross and John found out what emergency crews do when a massive accident happens

Ross and Russel

It was a horrific scene on the Calder Freeway yesterday that claimed the life of a man.

The multi-vehicle crash involved a petrol tanker and about ten cars.

Ross and John wanted to know Ambulance Victoria’s approach to an incident of that magnitude.

They spoke with Trevor Weston from Ambulance Victoria who was commander at the scene of yesterday’s horrible crash.

Mr Weston said the public played a huge role in helping when a incident like that happened.

He said they first knew about yesterday’s crash when members of the public phoned Triple-0.

Mr Weston said the amount of ambulances sent was relied on by the information given by the public.

Fortunately yesterday, there were off duty paramedics driving on the Calder Freeway able to help out.
