Ross and John talk barristers being told to ditch the wig in Victorian courts

Barristers and judges in Victoria’s highest courts have been told to ditch the wig.

While some are apparently not following suit, Ross and John spoke to barrister Dyson Hore-Lacy SC who joked he’d be selling his wig on eBay.

He said despite some lawyers opposing the ban, it was for judges to regulate procedures in the court.

‘It would be a very brave person who appears in the Supreme Court wearing a wig, today or in the future,’ he said.

‘I’d like to get some notice of it, because I’d like to be a spectator.’

Ross implored John to wear his wig in on Monday.
