Ross and Russel get a powerful first-hand account of what’s happening in Kyiv
Ross and Russel have received a powerful first-hand account of what’s happening in Kyiv by conflict journalist Oz Katerji.
It comes after at least five people were killed by two missiles that hit a TV tower in the Ukrainian capital.
“We’ve learned in the last hour, or so, that the attack on the TV tower also targeted the Holocaust memorial site, which is shocking, horrifying, to think about,” Oz Katerji said.
“It’s the site of one of the largest mass graves in Europe and it’s been bombed today by Vladimir Putin.”
Mr Katerji said a humanitarian crisis was already unfolding in the country, with food shortages escalating and quickly.
Regardless, he said morale was “high” on the front line.
“They’re singing, they’re joking, they’re laughing,” he said when asked about the mood of Ukrainians on the ground.
“They know what they’re facing is the most serious threat this nation has faced since the Second World War, but they’re doing it with determination, fearlessness, stoicism … Russia has bit off more than it can chew here.”

Denis Krivosheev, from Amnesty International, told 3AW he had little doubt war crimes had been committed by Russia.
“I have very little doubt that has happened,” he said.
