Ross Greenwood discusses Apple pay system

Ross Greenwood speaks to payments expert Lance Blockley about the syndicate of banks fighting Apple over its digital payments service.

The ACCC will need to make a decision about the Apple pay system. 

Ross Greenwood says the ACCC will need to weigh up is the banks request, along with the consumers best interests.

Lance Blockley explained what the system is on the Money News program

‘The NFC interface on the phone operates in the same way as the tap and go function on your card,’ he said.

‘When it comes to the NFC interface on an Apple iPhone, only Apple can access that interface.’
