Ross Stevenson reacts to radical plan to race horses through the CBD
Prominent racing fan Ross Stevenson has already placed his first bet on a potential horse sprint down the streets of Melbourne.
“This is one of the most bizarre stories I’ve ever read.”

The Herald Sun has today reported that the Andrews Government is considering holding a thoroughbred event, called City Racing Day, through CBD streets on a pop-up racetrack 1000m long.
Proposed by an international business, the concept’s potential routes include St Kilda Road and across the Princes Bridge.
Sports Minister John Eren this morning confirmed to 3AW that the government is seriously considering the concept, along with other international cities including Paris and New York.
Ross Stevenson, a racehorse owner and co-host of television program That’s Racing, described the concept as bizarre.
And placed his first bet.
Ross to Burnso: What’s your favourite restaurant? I will buy you that restaurant if there’s ever a horse race through the streets of Melbourne.
