RSL Victoria in the grip of a financial crisis

RSL Victoria is in the grip of a financial crisis and has reached a tipping point.

It follows an independent report found it’s become too reliant on its two annual fundraising appeals, hospitality and memberships.

RSL head office recorded a $2 million loss in 2019, all the more worrying as that figure was recorded before the pandemic shutdown.

State Chief Executive, Jamie Twidale, concedes they may have to turn to the state government for a bailout.
