RUMOUR CONFIRMED: A screaming woman has foiled an attempted carjacking outside a school in Melbourne’s south east.

Police have confirmed they were called to Berwick on Tuesday afternoon.

They’ve been told a 49-year-old woman was sitting in a Range Rover on Cardinia Street when an unknown man entered the vehicle about 3.45pm.

He’s then threatened her with a knife and demanded she get out of the vehicle.

However, the offender has quickly fled once the woman refused and started screaming.

Nobody was injured as a result of the incident and the investigation is ongoing.

Anyone with any information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
