Rumour confirmed: Capsicum sprayed Toorak burglar still on the run

Police are searching for a man following a burglary in Toorak yesterday.

The Rumour File this morning was told, “burglars in an affluent Melbourne suburb were caught red-handed by neighbours in the act”.

Victoria Police confirm two men allegedly broke into a home on Bruce Street about 5.15pm and took a number of items, which have since been recovered.

One was arrested nearby and the second was capsicum sprayed before fleeing on foot.

He is perceived as African in appearance.

An Audi, believed to have been linked to the burglary, was located abandoned in a nearby street.

Police are investigating whether a third person may have been involved.
