Rumour confirmed: Chief commissioner assists in ‘high-risk’ arrest in chance passing

RUMOUR CONFIRMED

3AW’s Rumour File was told the chief commissioner was driving past officers trying to pin down a man in a “high-risk” arrest.

The force confirmed Chief Commissioner Mike Bush and his security detail happened to be on Queen Street about 6am on Wednesday, when they saw officers struggling to arrest a man, who was reportedly armed with a knife.

He was eventually taken to the ground by officers, including Bush and his security detail. Police found a chisel on the man, who was taken to hospital for assessment.
