Rumour confirmed: Dandenong police station locked down for bomb squad

RUMOUR CONFIRMED: ‘Lockdown’ told 3AW Breakfast a police station in Melbourne south-east was placed into lockdown on Wednesday night.

Police confirm Dandenong police station was closed from 10pm on Wednesday, reopening almost four hours later.

The station was closed as a precaution after a canister was brought into the station.

Bomb Response Units attended and identified the items as old style flares.

The station was re-opened shortly after.
