RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Drone forces lockdown of Melbourne prison

RUMOUR CONFIRMED

A rogue drone has prompted the lockdown of a Melbourne correctional facility.

Corrections Victoria has confirmed the drone was spotted hovering near the Melbourne Assessment Centre around 6pm on Tuesday.

There were only a few people in the exercise yard at the time, but the centre was immediately put into lockdown.

Corrections Victoria says the drone was being operated by a private company and only caused a ‘minor’ disturbance.
