RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Flare let off at Melbourne school
CONFIRMED: At least one student at a school in Melbourne’s north-east has landed themselves in hot water after lighting a flare on school grounds.
Parade College confirmed with 3AW Breakfast it was investigating the incident, which happened during the lunch break on Tuesday at Bundoora.
‘The College can confirm that a flare was let off on school grounds at lunchtime yesterday, and is aware that the incident was posted on social media overnight,’ the school said in a statement.
‘Staff acted swiftly to secure the area affected by the flare and ensure that all students were safe and well.
‘The College has spoken with a number of students in relation to the incident and are continuing to investigate the situation.
‘As always, the safety of our staff and students is of prime importance.’
