RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Men with chainsaw and gun rob and steal BMW at Reservoir
RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Two men wielding a chainsaw and gun have threatened, robbed and then stolen a BMW during a terrifying attack on Tuesday night.
The car was later involved in several disturbing incidents before it smashed into a pub at Laverton on Thursday morning.
Police are told three men were seated inside the black BMW when a Kia sedan pulled up behind them on Tuesday night at Reservoir.
Two men have then exited the Kia, producing a chainsaw and cutting a 29-year-old Dallas man who was inside the car.
The three men in the BMW were then chased into a fish and chip shop, where one of the offenders produced a gun and demanded cash, a phone and the keys to the BMW.
The pair then fled in the BMW X5.
3AW Drive listener Chris told Tom Elliott he spotted the vehicle driving erratically on the Princes Freeway around 4pm on Wednesday.
It’s understood the same men may have then been involved in an incident inbound on the West Gate Freeway, Brooklyn, shortly before 7am on Wednesday.
The BMW was seen being driven erratically and at speed in the emergency lane.
One of the occupants allegedly pointed what is believed to be a handgun at the driver of another vehicle on the freeway.
Nobody was injured.
The first offender is perceived to be of Middle Eastern appearance, with a solid build and short black beard.
He was wearing a grey jumper, black shorts and had a black satchel over his shoulder.
The second offender was described to be in his 30s, of medium build with blonde hair and a fair complexion.
Anyone with information about the incident or anyone who sights the stolen BMW is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential crime report at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
