RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Morwell to become fishing hot spot

DESTINATION MORWELL:

A rumour file caller told us that in a Victorian first, barramundi would be released into a Hazelwood Mine cooling pond.

This has since been confirmed.

1600 Barramundi to be released into the Hazelwood Mine cooling pond today. 

3AW Breakfast spoke with Jaala Pulford, the Victorian Agriculture Minister to get the latest.

Jaala says it will be a great challenge for other states to compete with this new attraction. 

The pond will be closed to recreational fishers for 6 months.
