RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Police called to football match at Sunshine Heights

RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Authorities were called to a suburban football match following reports of a brawl over the weekend.

‘ALL IN’ told the 3AW Breakfast Rumour File about a brawl on Saturday at the Sunshine Heights Football Ground.

Victoria Police confirm they responded to reports of a brawl at a sporting club on Vernon Crescent in Sunshine about 4pm on Saturday.

‘The altercation had finished on police arrival and people had been dispersed. Police have not received any reports of assault at this stage,’ a Victoria Police media spokesman said.

The clubs involved were the Wyndham Suns and Sunshine Heights in Division Two of the Western Region Football League.

The Western Region Football League has been approached for comment.
