Victoria Police will reimburse more than 2500 firearm licence holders who were overcharged for fees for more than 20 years.

As heard on The Rumour File, certain licence holders were, “being charged by Victoria Police for certain types of licences going back 20 years.”

Police later confirmed they will reimburse 2579 firearm licence holders who were overcharged firearm licence fees following an extensive review of internal records.

The error dates all the way back to 1997.
