THE RUMOUR FILE

A regretful vandal has made contact with a business in Melbourne’s east after he kicked in the front door of their shop, later confessing and offering to pay for the damages.

During The Rumour File, Justin and Kate were told a business in the eastern suburbs that had their front glass door kicked in over New Years,  were then surprised to receive an e-mail from a man confessing to be drunk and acting foolishly.

Drew Wadsworth, the owner of Proact Building Consultants in Mitcham, later confirmed the incident and said he was touched by the young man’s honesty.

“I got the call from security on New Years Day, and a day or so later the youth had second regrets,” Drew said.

“He’d emailed us saying he’d tried to come into the shop, but there was no one there.”

Drew said he is sending out a newsletter to the other businesses in the street to let them know what happened, and says that with all the other negative news around, this was a wonderful thing to happen.
