A Christmas caroling tram driver is bringing some festive cheer to passengers of the 109.

The Rumour File heard the tram driver has been singing, talking to passengers and giving information about the city all the way from Box Hill to Port Melbourne.

Ross and John later spoke to Bruce Whalley who confirmed he has been singing along his route, trying to spread some Christmas cheer.

“Christmas carols are my thing,” Bruce said.

“I try and ease the pain of my passengers.

“Though as a singer I make a damn good tram driver.”

The 62-year-old has been driving trams for around five years.

He’s even learned Mandarin so he can chat with some of his passengers.
