The Rumour File heard that some schools are banning watermelon, banana, and strawberries because of allergy fears. 

Now even specialists are claiming it’s over the top.

Point Cook College is urging parents to avoid sending bananas, watermelon, soy, wheat, eggs, dairy, and nuts in lunches due to minor allergies and life-threatening anaphylaxis.

But allergy expert Prof Katie Allen told Ross and John a better action would be to stop kids sharing food.

‘What we recommend is not to ban foods, but to make sure the children eat only foods they can tolerate,’ Prof Allen said.
