RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Two elderly women had to be rescued after getting stuck in quicksand at Brighton golf course last week.
‘A Sticky End’ told 3AW Breakfast the women had been looking for balls in a drained-out water hazard when they got into trouble.
Ambulance Victoria has confirmed it was called to the course where they found a woman in her 80s stuck waist-deep in mud trying to retrieve a golf ball.
A friend aged in her 70s also became trapped trying to help her.
The women were freed with the assistance of the MFB and were assessed at the scene.
It was just 12 degrees.
