Rumour confirmed: Victorian desalination plant to be switched on

The Rumour File has struck again.

The Victorian Government announced on Sunday the desalination plant would be switched on for the first time.

It was revealed on 3AW Breakfast on Friday 50 gigalitres of desalinated water would be ordered from the Wonthaggi plant.

In fact, one Rumour File caller suggested as early as January 7 that the first order was imminent.
