An Australian Open ball boy has undergone a scary ordeal after falling asleep on the train after his shift.

13-year-old Mitchell was exhausted on Saturday night, and failed to get off at Cranbourne station.

Somehow, train staff missed the sleeping boy, and drove the train into the holding yard.

Mitchell’s mum Emma, who was waiting for him at the station, said she panicked when her son didn’t get off the train.

She told Ross and John her son, who was on his own, was distressed when he woke up.
