RUMOUR FILE: Luxury car owners are being warned of a device being used by thieves that can seemingly unlock vehicles remotely.

One of the possible victims at the weekend was 3AW’s own Ross Stevenson.

He’s pretty confident his car was locked when thieves managed to get in.

He’s says he’s since been informed, the offender may have been using a device which allows them to gain access to luxury vehicles so long as the keys are within 100 metres.

Police are investigating the incident in Malvern at the weekend.

But they say the bottom line is, people should try to avoid leaving valuables in cars or at least keep them out of sight.
