RUMOUR FILE CONFIRMED: Dramatic pictures have emerged of a forklift exploding at the Epping fruit and vegetable wholesale market.

A smaller fire stated on the forklift, but it soon accelerated into a ball of flames.

The incident happened early yesterday morning.

No one was injured.

Mark Maskiell, CEO of Melbourne Market Authority, said the forklift’s driver was returning from re-fuelling when the driver noticed some flames.

‘They put in an area which was out in the open,’ he said, before the fire brigade and Worksafe were called.

‘We believe it was the result of a faulty gas connection.’
