Russia is being increasingly ostracised by the international community for their invasion of Ukraine, with the sporting world adding to a growing list of sanctions and boycotts.

FIFA is the latest sporting organisation to ban athletes from competing under a Russian flag.

The Russian Grand Prix was also scrapped.

Emeritus Professor of Cultural Research at the Institute of Cultural and Society University of Western Sydney, professor David Rowe, said the sporting reaction has been “extraordinary”.

“I’ve never seen such a comprehensive reaction from the world of sport,” he said on 3AW Drive.
