Rye residents fed up with luxury ‘party house’ being rented online

Neighbours of a luxury Rye beach house being rented out to rowdy party groups almost every weekend say they’ve had enough.

Local Howard Dare told 3AW Breakfast one man had even threatened to kill him when confronted over the noise.

The house, which is advertised on websites like Airbnb for $800 a night, constantly attracts rowdy groups of up to 25 people.

The Melbourne owners of the luxury property say parties are not allowed.

But that request is not being followed.

‘It’s been active most weekends, if not all,’ Mr Dare, who moved in grand final weekend last year, told Ross and John.
