Nominations for the 20th Melbourne Awards are now open and Lord Mayor Sally Capp is calling on Melburnians to nominate fellow residents for Melburnian of the Year.

Councillor Capp says the panel deciding on this year’s winner is looking for “someone who shows excellence in their field that also makes an amazing contribution to the community”.

The 2021 recipient was Peggy O’Neal.

“We’re looking for public nominations and people can give their ideas about who should be Melburnian of the Year through to August 26,” Cr Capp told Ross and Russel.
