Sam Groth labelled a ‘loose cannon’ after quitting politics, triggering by-election
Former deputy Liberal leader Sam Groth has made the decision to quit politics as early as next week.
The sudden news means there’ll be a by-election in his seat of Nepean in the coming months.
“The Liberals are a mess and Mr Groth is a loose cannon,” Jacqui Felgate said.

“I think it’s disappointing behaviour from Sam Groth to say the least,” the 3AW Drive host added.
“It’s a distraction and a waste of taxpayers’ money.”
Shadow transport minister, Matthew Guy, is taking a positive mindset however to Groth’s decision today.

“We see this as the first opportunity Victorians are going to have, to express their frustration on the government after 12 years,” Guy said.
