Same-sex postal vote given the go-ahead in court
Human Rights advocates have urged Australians to take part in the same-sex marriage postal vote, denying suggestions it’s hypocritical, given their previous opposition to it.
The vote will go ahead after the High Court dismissed a legal challenge on Thursday.
Anna Brown, Director of Legal Advocacy at the Human Rights Law Centre, told Tom Elliott it was “really important” for people to have their say.
“I don’t think we’ve got time to feel disappointed, we need to get on and win the campaign,” she said.
“We are where we are.”
