Sarah Henderson focused on meeting “strong targets” of female representation
Liberal minster Sarah Henderson has hit back at claims her party has an issue with female representation.
After leaving government last year following the tumultuous leadership spill, Julia Banks recently said the Liberals have a woman problem – a claim Ms Henderson refuted.
But the Federal Member for Corangamite told 3AW Drive said was focused on reaching 50 per cent representation among men and women in the Liberal party.
“We’ve got a proud record of bringing women in on merit,” he said.
“We have very strong targets to have 50 per cent representation of men and women in the parliament.
“If that doesn’t work, maybe more robust measures are required but we are doing better than most workplaces.”
